Bergamot is generally extracted by distillation or cold pressing. It is the cold pressed oils that are normally used in zoopharmacognosy. The cold pressed oils contain photo-reactive furanocoumarins such as bergapten, which can result in pigmentation changes and sunburn if not needed and applied in sunlight; however they have great therapeutic potential when they are needed. The distilled bergamot does not contain these photo-reactive compounds because the molecules are too large (heavy) to volatilise. Caution: Do not offer if already on medication. Note the oil is photo-reactive.

Humans and animals with psoriasis; tumours/sarcoids; growths frequently selected Bergamot. It is also selected by animals with compromised immune systems; cardio disorders; airborne infection; and to bring balance to the body and mind
